CULLMAN — James Dewitt Pinkard Sr.

Funeral services for James Dewitt Pinkard Sr., 91, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Pastors Greg Story and Aaron Coffey officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pinkard died Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Woodland Village. He was born Feb. 7, 1921, in Dallas, Ga., to Eugene Dewitt Pinkard and Ethel Missouri Garner Pinkard. He was a bookkeeper for the Alabama Farmers Cooperative and was a private in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jim Pinkard and Ruby Pinkard; and a brother, G.W. Pinkard.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Gladys Estelle Pinkard; a brother, Art (Nita) Pinkard; a daughter-in-law, Mary (Javon) Daniel; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Bridgette) Pinkard, Nick Pinkard and Dusty (Kelly) Pinkard; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor Pinkard, Van Pinkard, Emma Claire Pinkard, Sebastian Pinkard and Dyme Pinkard.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
