Donna Carol Mackentepe

Donna Carol Mackentepe, 57, of Eva, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at her residence and with her loving family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Daniel’s Chapel Baptist Church at 2 p.m.  She will lie-in-state at the church from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Tim Aris, Albert Dean Estes and Gery Fuller will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, August 17, 2013  from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 11, 1956 in Tuscumbia, Alabama to Edward Oaks and Myrtle Hardin Oaks.  She was the General Transportation Manager for Walmart for many years.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother, Myrtle “Tiny” Oaks;  two sons, Kenneth (Cecelia Livingston) Golden  and  Jody (Adrienne) Mackentepe; seven grandchildren, Blake Golden, Emma Golden,  Gavin Mackentepe, Case Mackentepe,  Spencer Harvel, Brooke Harvel, and Rheagan Harvel; two brothers,  Dewayne (Daphne) Oaks and Dwight (Edith) Oaks; two sisters, Debra (Terry) Hunter and Dewanda (Earl) Brinkley;  and many, many friends.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.

    Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
