Christine Hannah Dotson

CULLMAN — Christine Hannah Dotson

Christine Hannah Dotson, 73, of Fairfield, Ala., took her first steps on the streets of gold, Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013. Christine attended New Life Fellowship Church in Jasper. She committed her life, even from an early age, serving as a Sunday school teacher, church pianist, youth leader, and lifelong commitment to her gospel music ministry. Christine and her husband sang together as the Dotson family for 52 years. Her life was dedicated to serving the Lord in her called ministry of music and she spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through television, radio and numerous studio recordings. She was co-writer on the songs penned by her husband, Archie.

The lifelong Alabama fan is also survived by a large extended family, who each year gathered for the annual Hannah family reunion. Christine took great pride in making sure everyone received notice through the newsletter of which she lovingly named the "Hannah Herald" and she personally mailed one to all members of the Hannah family every year.

Christine was a special wife, mother and grandmother. She was the anchor to many family members and made herself available whenever needed. She loved her family with an unconditional love and devotion.

Christine is now happy as she is reunited with those who preceded her death, her parents, Earl and Mary Hannah; brothers, Raymond Hannah, Ruben Hannah and Melvin Hannah; and sisters, Irene Stanley, Larine Bush, Lora Jean Busby and Alice Price.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Archie Dotson; daughters, Chrysta (Tommy) Russell and Alicia (Wes) Bright; and four grandchildren, Wesley Brokus, Lauren Russell, Evan Russell and Luke Bright.

A visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at People's Chapel Funeral Home, 195 Brooklane Drive, Hueytown, AL, 35023. A celebration of her life will follow at noon Saturday. Graveside services will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Brothers Ed Frazier and Tommy Littleton will officiate services.
