Billy Bob Nooner Jr.
Billy Bob Nooner Jr. of Lubbock, Texas, 51, went to be with the Lord Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. He was born Nov. 18, 1960, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Bob and Barbara Larmon Nooner. Bill was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served from 1978-1981 and was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal and Humanitarian Service Medal. While he was a rebellious spirit, he was a hard worker and put his family before himself. He had his struggles in life, but was a believer in God, who gave him the strength to prevail. Bill loved to tell jokes, even when he was the only one that thought they were funny. He loved to ride his motorcycle and give rides to his sons, nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lynne; three brothers, Waldo (Jennifer), Danny (Stacey), and Gary (Leah); sister, Rebecca (Nathan) Land; three sons, Daniel, Bobby (Serena), and Christopher (Tasha); two stepsons, Michael (Melissa) Armstrong and David Armstrong; six grandchildren, Sebastian, Cortney, Corbin, Jacob, Gavin and Tyler; two step-grandchildren Travis and Alana Armstrong; five nephews; and two nieces.
A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Rix Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Parkway Drive Church of Christ. Cremation will follow.
