CULLMAN — Clovis Mae Burks Hamrick

Funeral Services for Clovis Mae Burks Hamrick, 80, of Hanceville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Chris Hagler and Garry Fowler officiating,  with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hamrick passed away Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin, Georgia. She was born Aug. 18, 1932 to Walter and Lethie Burks. She was a member of Fairview West Baptist Church and Eastern Star. She was a dedicated Christian with a love for the Lord. She was a loving and considerate mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had recently moved from Hanceville to Milner, Ga., due to illness. Besides reading the Bible, she loved to sew, make quilts, attend antique tractor shows, and most of all, was a longtime Tide Pride member with a passion for Alabama football.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Hamrick; daughter, Sandra Lambert; grandson, Josh Dutton; son-in-law, Billy Phillips; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra (Norbert) Kornwinkel of Hanceville and Kim Fowler of Milner, Ga., one son, Mike (JoAnn) Eddy of Cullman; and caregiver and friend, Barb Willis.  “Nanny” as she was affectionaly referred as leaves behind six grandchildren, Amy Hagler, Garrett and Maegan Fowler, Laura and Alanna Eddy and Shane Dutton. She also had six great-grandchildren, Belle Oliver, Madison Hagler and Sadie Rayne Hagler, Lanie Fowler, Cody and Travis Hollaway, two sisters, Opaline Harper and Edna Ruth Kilgo; one brother, Alden Burks; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
