CULLMAN — Warren Belton Calvert

Funeral services for Warren Belton Calvert, 89, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Seventh Street Baptist Church, the Rev. Kerry Cleghorn officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery. Mr. Calvert will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Calvert died Monday, June 16, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born May 20, 1923, in Cullman to Dewitt Talmadge and Clara Neel Calvert. Mr. Calvert was drafted into the U.S. Army-Air Force in January 1943. Serving in various parts of the United States, he was discharged Feb. 14, 1946. He later worked as an aircraft mechanic at Hayes Aircraft (Pemco) in Birmingham, where he retired after 35 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Mary Frances Calvert (Dec. 12, 2011); a grandson, Mark David Yates; and two sisters, Fay Thomas and May Ham.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Calvert (Kenneth) Yates; a son, Charles Warren (Donna) Calvert; a grandson, Matthew Dale Yates; two granddaughters, Chrissy (Frank) Baker and Ashley (Craig) Adamson; great-grandchildren, Josey Pannell, Lilly and Xander Adamson; a sister, Dorthy (John) King; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cullman Caring For Kids, P.O. Box 698, Cullman 35055; or the Jimmie Hale Mimssion, 3420 2nd Ave. N, Birmingham 35222.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Yates, Frank Baker, Craig Adamson and Kenneth Yates.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
