CULLMAN — Bessie Rogers

Funeral services for Bessie Rogers, 88, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Junior Wolfe officiating, with interment in Oak Level Cemetery.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rogers passed away Saturday, July 7, on her 88th birthday. She was born July 7, 1924, in South Carolina to Dalton and Pearl Coulter Boykin. She was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church and had a special love for gospel singing. She was a great mother and grandmother to her own and everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Major Rogers; two sons, Harry Rodgers and David Rodgers; three infant daughters; six brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include three sons, Daniel Edward Rodgers of Idaho, Donald (Octavia) Rodgers of Holly Pond and Rev. Steve (Hilda) Rodgers of Cullman; two daughters, Elizabeth Robinson of Nesmith, Brenda (Ben) Kerny of Addison;a daughter-in-law, Diane Rodgers; 15 grandchildren, Annette Robinson Mays, Donna Hara, Darlene Maldonado, Dewayne Rodgers, Dan Rodgers, James Rodgers, Auburn Rodgers, Barbara Ann Rodgers, Elizabeth Peck, Susan Partridge, Ben Kerny Jr., Jason Rodgers, John Rodgers, Isaac Rodgers and Kayla Rodgers; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
