CULLMAN — Larry Dale Easterwood

Funeral services for Larry Dale Easterwood, 65, of Cullman will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2013, at North (New) Campus Sactuary of Gardendale First Baptist Church, the Rev. Mark Harrison officiating, Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, in New Hope No. 2 Cemetery in Cullman.

Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Easterwood passed away Wednesday, May 1. He was born April 19, 1948, in Arab to L.D. and Nell Easterwood. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during the Vietnam era and was stationed in the Philippines where he met his wife. Larry was a member of Gardendale First Baptist Church, and was a faithful member of the choir and was a former member of Westwood Baptist and Hillview Baptist churches. He enjoyed fishing at Smith Lake and Hunting with his two sons, Glenn and Brandon. They were members of the White Oak Hunting Club in Centreville and the Elm Bluff Hunting Club in Selma. Larry was retired from the U.S. Postal Service as an area maintenance technician for 28 years. He formerly worked with Brunos (14 years) and U.S. Steel (9 and a half years). Larry’s happiest moments were going on trips with his wife and church family and being involved with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by by his parents; and a brother, Stan Easterwood.

Larry is survived by his loving family: His wife of 41 years, Ida Easterwood; his daughter, Mary Ann Easterwood Ash (Wade); sons, Glenn Easterwood (Kim) and Brandon Easterwood (Beth); his two sisters, Connie Clark and Glenda Bryan (Don). He has nine grandchildren who loved and will miss their “Poppy”: Sundi (Ryan) Wood, Russell (Lenora) Ash, Faith, Hannah and Aaliyah Ash, Madison and Logan Easterwood, Jacob and Caleb Easterwood; two great-grandchildren, Rylee Wood and Evan Ash; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who he loved dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Gardendale First Baptist Church Missionary Fund.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
