Bertha Odell Glasscock Sullins
Funeral services for Bertha Odell Glasscock Sullins, 86, of Hanceville will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, with interment in Duck River Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sullins passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, at her residence. She was born Feb. 26, 1926, in Cullman County. The Sullins moved to Peoria, Ill., in 1951 and returned to Hanceville for retirement in 1986.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Minnie Glasscock; brothers, Grady, Jasper, Jesse, Felix, John, J.C. and William; and sisters, Gladys, Stella, Nella, Irene, Inez, Ezma and an infant sister.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Earnie Sullins of Hanceville; a son, Bill (Nancy) Sullins; two daughters, Betty (George) Nash and Bonnie (Gene) Nash, all of Peoria; a brother, Oscar (Betty) Glasscock of Newberry, Ohio; four grandchildren, Stacey Sullins of Peoria, Matt Sullins of Athens, Ga., Ben (Heather) Nash of Peoria, and Lisa Marie (Benny) Wong, who lived with her grandparents many years in Hanceville, but now resides in Sunnyvale, Calif.; and nine great-grandchildren, Matt Fiddes, Jack Fiddes, Jakob Sullins, Molly Sullins, Alex Sullins, Kaitlin Wong, Earnie Wong, Mikayla Wong and Bronte Nash.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.
