She passed away on Wednesday, June 12, at Woodland Village Healthcare. She was born Aug. 14, 1927, in High Point, N.C., to John L. and Johnsie Wade Bean. She was a secretary at East Elementary School in Cullman.

Pat was known for her wit and wisdom as well as her incredible vocabulary. In her words, she was “an omniverous reader”. Her knowledge of birds, their calls and migratory patterns was equaled only by her knowledge of Civil War generals, battles and skirmishes; and of course, the Holy Bible. She truly had a servant’s heart and will be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James R. “Buck” Hollingsworth; a brother, Johnny Bean; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Lyons.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisanne Brown of Cullman; two sons, Levi (Sandy) Hollingsworth of Carrollton, Ga., and Robert Lyons of Swainsboro, Ga.; a sister, Peggy Bean Cook of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; and five grandchildren, Michele Lyons of Swainsboro, Ga., Joshua (Kellie) Hollingsworth of Carrollton, Ga., Levi Brown of Cullman, Sarah Hollingsworth of Carrollton, Ga., and Jackson Brown of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
