Patricia ‘Patti’ Waters Hollis

A celebration of life service for Patricia “Patti” Waters Hollis will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at the Cathedral of St. Philip Episcopal Church, 2744 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA 30305.

Cremation Society of the South in Marietta, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hollis passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 30, after a lengthy illness which she fought with courage and an indomitable spirit.

She was born Oct. 22, 1946, and spent her childhood years in Cullman. However, Atlanta, Ga., has been her home for the last 36 years. She graduated from the University of South Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in early childhood education. Patti taught elementary school in Mobile and Atlanta. In 1973, she was honored in Mobile as the Outstanding Young Educator of the Year. Patti was an active volunteer for many years in fundraising efforts for the Egleston Children’s Hospital. For the past 30 years, she has been a successful real estate agent in the Atlanta area. Patti was a long-standing member of the Cathedral of St. Philip, her church circle, Daughters of the King, and the church Flower Guild. Patti was also a member of Iris Garden Club.

Patti is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Frazier Hollis; her beloved daughter, Emily Hollis Tate; son-in-law, Steve Tate; her adored grandchildren who were the light of her life, Tilghman and Hollis Tate; her father, Hosie N. Waters; a brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Susan Waters; a brother-in-law and his wife, Joe and Carole Hollis; and several nieces and nephews.

Patti leaves behind a loving circle of friends who will always be inspired by her courage, her strength, her spirit, her humor and the special twinkle in her eye.
