Funeral services for Rev. Glenn L. Hopkins Sr., 72, of Odenville will be Friday, Oct. 9, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home with Tim Gunter, Rick Hopkins, Howard Hopkins and Rick Nelson officiating. Interment will be in Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Hopkins died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009 at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born in Birmingham on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 1937 to Troy and Mattie Jacobs Hopkins.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Hopkins; two sons, Glenn “Sonny”Hopkins Jr. of Center Point and Daniel Hopkins of Burton, Mich.; a daughter, Cynthia Marie Shaffett of Hayden; a stepson, Kenneth Garrett of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two sisters, Betty Strassner of Mt. Olive and Annette Patterson of Gardendale; four brothers, Nolan Hopkins of Warrior, Larry Hopkins of Hayden, Howard Hopkins of Ashville and Phillip Hopkins of Odenville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 from 5:30 p.m.- 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
