Funeral services for Verna Nova Denton, 94, of Double Springs will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Friendship Baptist Church in the Upshaw community, with burial in the church cemetery.
Nichols Funeral Home in Addison is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Denton passed away Monday, Oct. 8. She was born March 10, 1918, in Addison. She was a member of Enmond Field Baptist Church for 40 years. She worked in the school district cafeteria in California and loved working with the children. She loved people and always made the best of any situation. She always said, “Don’t cry over spilled milk, pick yourself up and go again.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Denton.
Survivors include her daughter, Patty Watkins Erp; her husband, Randy; and one grandchild, Neil Eric Watkins.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
