Mary Nell Burks Edge
Funeral services for Mary Nell Burks Edge, 85, of Cullman will be Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Revs. Ray Lathem and Jimmy Peyton officiating with interment at Welti Cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to service.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Edge died Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Eastglen Nursing Home. She was born March 27, 1927 in Cullman County to Buron Eugene and Eva Eugenie Goodson Burks. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earnest R. “Nick” Edge; and a sister, Betty Jane Sherrell.
Survivors include sons, Roger D. (Jane) Edge and Jim (Jan) Edge; a daughter, Peggy Edge (Jim Smith); grandchildren, Lee (Michelle) Holder, Lucretia (Shane) Branham, Brian (Shannon) Edge; Melissa (Jason) Wisniowski and Christy (Roman) Sniecinski; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Billy (Doris) Burks; a sister, Alphie Ione Jones; and a brother-in-law, Ira Sherrell.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8817 CR 747, Cullman, AL 35055.
Visitation will be Friday, February 22, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
