CULLMAN — Larry Wayne Godsey

Memorial services for Larry Wayne Godsey, 62, of Cullman were at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the Godsey home, where friends of the family attended. Larry was cremated Sunday in Birmingham.

Abank Mortuary of Birmingham was in charge of arrangements.

Larry died Friday, July 13, at home with his family by his side. He was born Feb. 12, 1950, in Brazil, Ind. He was employed primarily as a carpenter building mobile homes until disabilities forced him into early retirement. He will be remembered by his friends and family for his quick wit, his love for life, and his outgoing personality. He loved spending time with his family and treasured his grandchildren, who he credited for giving him the will to fight through numerous surgeries and illnesses. He will be missed by all who knew him and who had the opportunity to hear his jokes and stories.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, James Austin Godsey; and a son, Larry Godsey Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Lisa Parker Bohler Godsey of Cullman; daughters, Crystal (Jake) Adams and Adrian (Ryan) Burtis of Cullman; a son, Michael of Brazil, Ind.; his mother, Isabelle Francis Otto of Brazil, Ind.; four sisters; a brother; and five grandchildren, Ozten Godsey, Drayke Adams, Jayda Adams, Pressley Burtis and Auburn Burtis.
