CERA to meet: The Cullman Educators Retiree Association will meet at 11 a.m. today at the Benedictine Sisters Conference Center, 916 Convent Road, Cullman 35055. Looking ahead:

Summer at Hurricane Creek Park: The Park is now offering group rates for their First Time Rock Climbing program. This rock climbing program allows first-time or experienced climbers the opportunity to climb under professional guide, John Wesley McCrary. Group rates are available for youth groups, summer camps, business retreats, company picnics, Boy and Girl Scouts, and other groups. Time slots are available throughout the week. This program is also offered to the public on Saturday mornings at 10 a.m. for just $25; call ahead to register.

A wilderness survival course is also available to learn and test skills of fire making, finding water, and more. The class is also offered on Sunday afternoons and a reservation is required in advance.

Photo fundraiser: Cullman Health Care will hold a photo fundraiser for families June 22, 2013 at the facility at 1607 Main Ave. NE, Cullman 35055. The family will receive a free 10x13 photo; sitting fee is $10. All proceeds go to the residents’ activities fund.

Sign language classes: Cullman County Schools will offer free sign language classes Tuesdays and Thursdays for five weeks beginning June 18. Times will be from 8 to 10 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 3 p.m. Classes to be held at the Child Development Center, 17600 Highway 31 N, Cullman 35058.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
