CULLMAN — Evelyn Marion Singleton

Funeral services for Evelyn Marion Singleton, 87, of Cullman will be at 4 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Ed Hayes and the Rev. Jerry Cole officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Singleton passed away Monday, June 17, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 16, 1925, in Birmingham to Emmett Carden and Ida Caroline Copeland Lumpkin. Evelyn taught at Good Hope and West Elementary schools before her retirement of over 25 years. She was a member at Cullman First  Baptist Church for 56 years and taught Sunday School there for 45 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Harold M. Singleton; a sister, Joneal Pruett; and a brother, Jimmie Lumpkin.

Survivors include three sons, Steve (Deborah) Singleton, Craig (Beth) Singleton and Ben (Sue) Singleton; two sisters, Helen Sandlin and Mickie Beatty; a sister-in-law, Margaret Lumpkin; seven grandchildren, Tyler Singleton, Danielle Singleton, Jenny (Brian) Lawson, Mark (Allison) Singleton, Will Singleton, Benjamin Singleton II, Josh (Maria) Singleton; and a great-grandson, Kane Lawson.

Memorial gifts may be made to Cullman First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry or to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
