DECATUR — Charles Eugene Alvis

Funeral services for Charles Eugene Alvis, 56, of Hartselle will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel, Tim Alvis officiating, with burial in Dancey’s Chapel Cemetery.

Parkway Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alvis died Saturday, May 4, at his residence. He was born March 25, 1957, at Hartselle Hospital. He was the owner/operator of Midway Auction in Trinity, and Elam Creek Auction in Moulton. He was an avid and faithful Alabama Football fan and a devoted family man.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Alla B. Alvis; and two brothers, Carl “Jack”, and Leon Alvis.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Fay Alvis; two daughters, Alla Alvis Mahony and April Alvis; three stepdaughters, Danica Hicks, Lani Collier and Amanda McKee; three brothers, Jim, Joe and Tim Alvis; three sisters, Betty Marie Freeman, Margaret Brown and Carolyn Alvis; a grandchild, Alexander Charles Mahony; and three stepgrandchildren, Marissa Hicks, Emily McKee and Eli McKee.

The family requests memorial gifts be made to the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
