CULLMAN — Billie Sue Rodgers

Funeral services for Billie Sue Rodgers, 80, of Cullman, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Jones Chapel First Baptist Church, the Revs. Steve Rodgers and Randall Edmondson officiating, with interment in Jones Chapel Cemetery .

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Rodgers passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, at Lawrence Medical Center. She was born Oct. 21, 1932, to Jamie Vernon and Irene Maude Lindley Horn. She was an active member of Jones Chapel First Baptist Church, and worked many years for the Cullman County School System serving lunches to children. She loved all kinds of flowers, crocheting, and especially loved her grandchildren. She also loved all the phone calls she received from loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Arvil “Fats” Rodgers; one son, Terry Rodgers; two daughters, Beth (Dr. Rex) Tuckier of Moulton and Amanda (John) McKenney of Cullman; two sisters, Gay Nell White of Addison and Jimmie Giddeons of Gastonia, N.C.; two grandchildren, Maddie McKenney and Elijah Tuckier; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the church.
