SPANISH FORT — Charles Alton Little

Charles Alton Little passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the age of 81. He was born July 24, 1932, in Blount County, Alabama, to Oscar and Beatrice Little. His family later moved to the Cullman area, where he attended Hanceville High School and graduated in 1950.

Following high school, Charlie married Frances Elizabeth Price and moved to San Diego, California, where he served in the U.S. Navy. After his discharge, the couple moved back to Alabama and settled in Midfield. Charlie retired from South Central Bell in 1988 with 38 years of service and moved to Spanish Fort in 2000. His life and interests were centered around his family. For numerous years Charlie served as a school board member with Midfield City Schools, coached Dixie Youth baseball, and was active in his local Lions Club.

Charlie was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Frances E. Little; his parents; and his siblings: Dalton Little, Delma Fulmer Speegle, and Teddy Little.

He is survived by his children, Jo Debrand (Juan), Leah Gonzalez (Jorge), Kevin Little (Carla), and Alex Little (Lynn); and 10 grandchildren, Christopher (Laura), Aubrey, and Mason Little; Nicholas, Phillip and Brian Gonzalez, Marcus, Ryan, Rose and Rachael Little. He is also survived by his niece, Barbara (Tim) Trucks.

Charlie was a member of Spanish Fort First Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. August 24, 2013.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
