Laban James
Graveside services for Laban James will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Calcedonia Cemetery on Sardis Road, Evangelist Jeff May officiating.
Ridout's Gardendale Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. James went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, Feb. 27. He was born Sept. 30, 1928. He was a member of the Gardendale Church of Christ and a lover of Bluegrass music.
Laban is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret James; son, Robert Laban James (Carrie); three daughters, Judy Price (Eugene), Sherry Collins (Buddy) and Amy Perkins (Steve); 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Margaret Easterwood, Peggy Sanford and Martha Thomas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested for donations to be made to the UAB Alzheimers Disease Center at UAB Neurology and the Neurosciences, Sparks Center, Suite 350, 1530 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35294; or call 205-975-7240.
