CULLMAN — Edward L. Prickett

Funeral services for Edward L. Prickett, 69, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Hunter’s Chapel Holy Church of Christ.

Collins-Burke Funeral Home in Jasper is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Prickett passed away Monday, Nov. 12, after a short illness. He was born Jan. 24, 1943, in Cullman. Ed loved Alabama football, meeting with his friends at Waffle House and Our Place in Gardendale. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward L. Prickett Sr.; and his mother, Mariglen Newman Prickett.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Jean Lay Prickett; a son, Charles Edward (Tracy) Prickett; a daughter, Christy Prickett (Greg) Jackson; three stepdaughters, Darlene Williams (Bobby) Bull, Karen Williams (Bobby) Gibson and Cindy Williams (Chris) Gunter; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sandy Wood of Lone Oak, Ga.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
