CULLMAN — Jamie Lee Coggins

Funeral services for Jamie Lee Coggins, 30, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Coggins passed away Thursday, Oct. 11, in Madison. He was born March 30, 1982, in Huntsville to Jimmy and Kathie Coggins. Jamie was a devoted father to his son, Nathan, who provided his father with a new outlook on life after his birth in 2006. Although a truck driver with Flat Creek Transportation by profession, regardless where he was on the road, Jamie always called his son every day just to see how he was doing. Those phone calls which always began with “Hey Buddy!” were the highlight of each of Jamie’s days.

Jamie was a big guy with a big heart. He never hesitated to lend a hand to his friends at the drop of a hat. His smile and his deep chuckle were infectious to everyone around him. Jamie took great delight in making people happy and his greatest desire was to make the people he loved proud of him. He had many struggles and valiantly defeated his demons almost two years ago.

Jamie was preceded in death by his best friend, his hero, and his father, Jimmy Lee Coggins. In his youth, Jamie could usually be found next to his dad with his head under the hood of a car laughing with each other. The bond these two amazing men shared was undeniable. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Cleo and Francis Campbell and Fred and Mary Coggins.

Survivors include his mother, Kathie Campbell Coggins of Cullman; his precious son, Nathan Coggins of West Point; his girlfriend, Julie Horvath of Madison; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends for visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Friends may leave memories and condolences online at www.mossservicefh.com.
