Thomas M. ‘Mack’ Barrett
Funeral services for Thomas M. “Mack” Barrett, 80, of Cullman will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, at Spirit Life Church of God, the Rev. Tim Herron and Rev. Mike Millican officiating. There will be no graveside services.

Mr. Barrett passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, at Morningside Assisted Living. He was born Feb. 8, 1933, in Folsom Parish, La., to Dixon and Ruby Gilmore Barrett. Mack was a retired barber for 57 years running his business in Pinson. He also served in the United States Navy during the Korean war, was a member of Spirit Life Church of God, and served as the senior music director and as the director of the Elder Quest Ministry. Thomas’ deep love of music was the way he evangelized.
Survivors include his wife, Tressie Turney Barrett; two daughters, Penny (David) Houston and Arlette (Mark) Lucas; a son, Thomas “Tom” (Kathy) Barrett Jr.; two sisters, Audie Barrett and Devon Stewart; five grandchildren, Paul David Houston, Kyle Barrett, Justin Barrett, Brent Lucas and Jennifer Houston; and a great-grandchild, Madison Barrett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Thomas’ name to Spirit Life Church of God, Elder Quest Ministry, 1650 St. Joseph Drive N.W., Cullman, AL 35055.
The family receive friends from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Spirit Life Church of God.
