James Raymond Burleson
Funeral services for James Raymond Burleson, 76, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at Cullman Church of Christ, Gary Bradley and Glenn Posey officiating, with interment in Whitehouse Cemetery in Haleyville. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Burleson passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1936, to Houston Hill and Lottie Lucille Tittle Burleson. He was baptized Aug. 15, 1954. He was the owner of Peerless Coatings and R&R Auto Paint Supply. He was married to Ann for 53 wonderful years. They had two sons, one daughter, and nine grandchildren. He was an elder with the Cullman Church of Christ for 32 years. He enjoyed working with and serving the congregation and his priority was God’s work. He was also a successful business owner. He enjoyed and strived to help so many people in his life and was always a good listener. He was an avid pilot with a private pilot’s license and an instrument and commerical ratings. He always liked taking care of God’s creations by working outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Alta Burleson Frederick, Houston Hill Burleson Jr. and Betty Joe Burleson Hall.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Burleson; two sons, Michael Raymond (Donna) Burleson and Jeffrey James (Joanna) Burleson; a daughter, Gina Ann Burleson Gann; nine grandchildren, Stewart Raymond Burleson, Donna Michelle Burleson, Stephen Michael Burleson, Emily Elizabeth Burleson, Connor James Burleson, Paige Margaret Burleson, Katherine Ann Burleson, Collin Reeves Gann and Luke Raymond Gann; and three brothers, Taft Talmadge Burleson, Carlos Hill Burleson and Isaac E. Burleson.

Carlton Eugene Stafford
Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
Susan Melissa Neck Werner
Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
