CULLMAN — George Luther Swann Jr.

Funeral services for George Luther Swann Jr., 79, of Vinemont will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, Jerry Freeman officiating, with interment in Missionary Grove Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swann died Tuesday, March 12, at his residence. He was born April 9, 1933, in Cullman to George L. Swann Sr. and Lena Lenton Swann. He was a lineman with Cullman Electric Cooperative and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

The family wants to extend their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Matter and his staff and to Omega Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Melissa Ann Swann; a brother, Franklin D. Swann; and a sister, Dorothy M. Leonard.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Swann; two sons, Greg (Cindy) Swann and Michael Swann; two stepdaughters, Lisa (Bobby) Lockhart and Heather Tucker Callan; grandchildren, Tiffani (Aaron) Quick, Brooke Callan, Logan Callan, Mallory (Adam) Black, Makyla Swann, Allen Swann and Jena (Shane) Hammond; and a host of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
