DECATUR — Edna Ruth McGhee Scott

Graveside services for Edna Ruth McGhee Scott, 83, of Decatur will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Roselawn Garden of Memories, Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating.

Roselawn Funeral Home in Decatur is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Scott died Wednesday, Feb. 13, at her home. She was born July 20, 1929, in Ariton, Ala., to Roy and Falbie Anderson McGhee. A homemaker, she was also a member of Ninth Street Methodist Church, a former Sears employee, an avid golfer, loving mother, grandmother and very proud great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard O’Neal Scott; two brothers, Roy McGhee and Tony McGhee; and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Richard Glenn Scott of Decatur; a daughter, Kim Scott (Clayton) Ingram of Cullman; a brother, Mike McGhee of Sylacauga; three granchildren, Matt (Mary Helen) Ingram of Cullman, Tyler Scott of Daphne and Meredith (Tony) Easterwood of Athens; and two great-grandchildren, Harper Ann Easterwood and Katherine Ann Ingram.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 240 Johnston St. SE, Decatur, AL 35609; or the Decatur General Foundation, P.O. Box 2239, Decatur, AL 35609.

Pallbearers will be Clayton Ingram, Matt Ingram, Tyler Scott, Tony Easterwood, Rusty Buster, Larry Sturges and Jeff Sellers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
