CULLMAN — Parks ‘Jack’ Edwin Lowry

Funeral services for Parks “Jack” Edwin Lowry, 89, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Sardis Baptist Church, Bro. Donnie Yarbrough officiating, with interment in Bethsadia Cemetery.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lowry passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab. He was born April 5, 1923, in Cullman to Snowda Parks and Esther Bradford Lowry. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman during World War II. After his discharge from the Army, he made farming his career.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Joe Lowry; a sister, Mary Grace Buchanan; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Calvert and Verna Lou Lowry.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Calvert Lowry; a brother-in-law, Sim Calvert; two sisters-in-law, Mary Nell (John) Crook and Glenda (Dennis) Shinn; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sardis Baptist Church Youth Fund or to your favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Victor Buchanan, Barry Buchanan, Terry Lowry, Dale Lowry, Neil Lowery and Frank Ellis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
