Funeral services for Azelee Mattox Hood, 93, of Hanceville will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Trueman Davis officiating, with interment in Hopewell Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Hood passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Tuesday, July 8, 1919, in Winston County to L.L. and Maggie McCoy Parris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Walker A. Mattox and Oron Hood; three sisters, Ruth Swaim, Louise Benifield and Edwynna Nevine; a brother, Troy Parris; a son, Rayford Mattox; and a son-in-law, Larry Lennen.
Survivors include a son, Robert Q. “Bobby” (Cloressia) Mattox; a daughter, Mava Jean Lennen; a daughter-in-law, Donna Mattox; a brother, James (Edith) Parris; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
