CULLMAN — Geneva Hyatt Overton

Funeral services for Geneva Hyatt Overton, 72, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Cornerstone Revival Center, the Revs. Greg Wilbanks, Jeremy Wilbanks and Shane Golden officiating, with interment in Etha Baptist Church Cemetery.

Cullman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Overton passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, at her residence. She was born May 20, 1940, to Joseph Virgil Hyatt and Minnie Mozzie Kimbril.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joseph Virgil Hyatt Jr. and Clyde Hyatt; a half-brother, Tommy Kimbril; and a grandson, Matt Brazeel.

Survivors include her stepmother, Portis Hyatt; her husband, Elbert Overton; two sons, Rickey (Kathy) Overton and Johnny Overton; three daughters, Sissy Deloris (Randy) Ash, Katherin Hampton, Sonya (Jody) Roberts; four brothers, J.C. (Sherry) Hyatt, Robert Hyatt, Jimmy (Susie) Hyatt and David Hyatt; a half-brother, Richard Kimbril; two sisters, Emma (Mickey) Smith and Robbie Veal; a half-sister, Joyce Kimbril; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Overton’s grandsons.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
