CULLMAN — Dale Earwood

Funeral services for Dale Earwood, 77, of Cullman will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Cullman Church of Christ, Bro. Ken Forrest officiating, with interment in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Earwood passed away Friday, Aug. 31, at his residence. He was born May 27, 1935, in Hulaco to Archie Wiley and Nancy Cleland Earwood. Dale was a member of Cullman Church of Christ, Cullman County Cattlemen’s Association, and the Cullman County Farmers Federation. He also served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from AT&T.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Aileen Earwood Wood; and two brothers, Travis Earwood and Gewin Earwood.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Ione Ellenburg Earwood of Cullman; two daughters, Sherry (Keith) Dunn of Birmingham and Kim (Larry) Ramsey of Montgomery; a granddaughter, Mattie Dunn; two grandsons, Cory Dunn and Grayson Dunn, all of Birmingham; two sisters, Betty Burden of Gum Pond and Ella Vann Earwood, of Hulaco; three brothers, Jay (Jan) Earwood of Baileyton, Ronald (Elaine) Earwood of Baileyton and Wayburn Earwood of Shreveport, La.; a sister-in-law, Freeda (Dewell) Jones of Cullman; two brothers-in-law, Bobby (Annette) Ellenburg and Buddy (Eloise) Ellenburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Dale’s name to the Cullman Church of Christ Building Fund, 4345 Ala. Highway 157, Cullman 35055; Childhaven, 1816 Childhaven Road NE, Cullman 35055; or Hospice of Cullman County, P.O. Box 1108, Cullman 35056.

Pallbearers will be John Burden, Cory Dunn, Grayson Dunn, Andy Earwood, Johnny Hope and Neal Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Chapman, Keith Earwood, Greg Hodges, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Pittman and Phil Walker.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the church.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
