CULLMAN — Virginia Elizabeth Patterson Thomas

Mrs. Thomas passed away Saturday, March 23. She was born on June 24, 1919, in Virginia Beach, Va., to Lillian and Biffle Patterson.

Mrs. Thomas grew up in Eva where she graduated from high school. She was a homemaker and wife to Eulus John “Boots” Thomas for more than 64 years. She was a proud member of Friendship Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, visiting with friends and relatives and her church activities.

"Grammy" enjoyed her final years at her son's home in Virginia Beach, where she enjoyed many hours being spoiled by her adoring granddaughters and being entertained by the twinkle of her eye, Preston Thomas Alcox.

She was a patient, supportive, loving and kind daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Grammy will be lovingly missed and fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.

Survivors include a son, Terry E. (Frances) Thomas of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Matthew Thomas Weathersby of Welti, Lindsey Thomas (Gregory) Harris of Phoenix, Ariz., Melissa Thomas (Douglas) Alcox and Allison Thomas (Scot) Willwerth of Virginia Beach; great-grandchildren, Owen Thomas and Emmarie Harris of Phoenix, Ariz., and Preston Thomas Alcox of Virginia Beach; loving nephews, Philip (Margaret) Lambert of Fairview, Bobby (Reba) Teague of Atlanta and Johnny Adams of Montgomery; and a host of wonderful in-laws, friends and relatives.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
