CULLMAN — Charles William Beck

Funeral services for Charles William Beck, 81, of West Point will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, the Revs. Terry Blankenship and Dennis Trimble officiating. Interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Beck will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services.

The Cullman City Firefighters will serve as pallbearers.

Charles was born Jan. 18, 1932, in Cullman to the late B.W. Beck and Edith Mae Bell Beck. He passed away at his residence surrounded by family Monday, May 20. Mr. Beck proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean war. For 17 of his early years, he was a truck driver, later became a firefighter for the City of Cullman, where he retired with 25 years of service and as a captain. Charles was a devoted family man, and a wonderful grandfather to Mason and Emily.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Overton Beck; a son, Tim (Jennifer) Beck; and two grandchildren, Mason Charles Beck and Emily Jordan Beck.

The family received friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
