Dana Meyer Chambers
Dana Meyer Chambers of Cullman passed away at her home on May 18, 2013, at 10:45 a.m.
Dana was born in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated Huntsville High School and The University of Alabama, and spent most of her adult life in Cullman, Alabama. She recently retired after a 25-year tenure in the field of education as librarian at East Elementary School in Cullman. One of her greatest pleasures was the special interaction she shared with her students.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 21, at Cullman Funeral Home from 3 to 5 p.m. Following visitation, a Graveside service will be held at the Holly Pond Cemetery, at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Brother Steve Rodgers will officiate. Interment will be in Holly Pond Cemetery.
Cullman Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Dana was preceded in death by her biological parents, Isola Hooten and Danielle Taglier; her adopted mother, Lorene Hooten Meyer; and maternal grandparents, Henrietta Shaw and Marvin Hooten.
Survivors include her adopted father, Robert Meyer; two sons, Robert (Shellie) Chambers and Dan Nolan Chambers; two sisters, Dee Ann Hairston Creel and Ellen Meyer Hampsten; one brother, Randy Hairston; an uncle, Leldon M. Hooten; an aunt, Betty Leeth Haynes; and two grandchildren, Clayton Chambers and Harper Chambers.
Dana was a joy of love and light to her family and will be missed beyond words.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice, or to the Holly Pond Cemetery Fund in care of Judy Jones, 3643, County Road 1650, Holly Pond, Alabama 35083.

Funeral services for Ms. Sharon Capps Phillips, 69, of Springhill will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Mike Waters officiating, with interment at Springhill Cemetery.
James Edward McCravy
Funeral services for James Edward McCravy, 80, of Cullman will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hanceville; with interment in Ebenezer Cemetery. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
