Hilera ‘Tony’ Howse
Funeral services for Hilera “Tony” Howse, 89, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Sardis Baptist Church No. 2, Bro. Jeff Wiggins officiating, with burial in the church cemetery.
Nichols Funeral Home in Addison is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howse passed away Tuesday, June 19, at Country Living in Vinemont. He was a veteran of World War II, a Mason, and a deacon at Sardis Baptist Church No. 2.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Buckie Howse; his parents, Jim and Dessar Howse; three brothers, Hershel Howse, Henzel Howse and T.A. Howse; and three sisters, Alma Sterling, Alva Tidwell and Macie Howse.
Survivors include his faithful companion, Gladys Hayes; his daughter, Judy (Waymon) Rutherford; his grandchildren, Jody Jones and her son, Will Davis, Carrie Beth Davis and her son, Thomas; and a sister, Billy (Myron) Gardner.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sardis Baptist Church No. 2; or to the charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
