Oral Hansel Privett

ADDISON — Oral Hansel Privett

Oral Hansel Privett, 83 of Addison passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, in Addison.

He was born on March 6, 1929 in Winston County, AL. Mr. Privett served as a Deacon at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He served his country in the United States Army where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, Army Occupational Medal for Germany and a Good Conduct Medal. He went on to work for Ingram Farms for 44 years.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Addison. Reverend William McClellan and Reverend Chris Godbee will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Allene Privett; sons, Kerry Privett, Ronnie (Melissa) Privett and Jeff (Belinda) Privett; daughter, Sharon Ward; brother, Luther Privett; sisters, Dean (Larry Joe Sr.) Stelley; and Lorene Laseter; he was “Popd” to nine grandchildren, Dave (Sharelle) Privett, Brittany (Anthony) Thornton, Eli Privett, Andrew Privett, Ryan Privett, Megan (Drew) Johnson, Casey Privett, Tonya (John) Sweeney and Alicia Dawson; and 4 great grandchildren, Jordan Guise, Mattie Johnson, Gabriel Privett and Kayson Thornton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John David and Jesse Pearl Privett; sisters, Vener Bartlett, Evie Hood, Lois Privett and Lena Walden; brothers, Espy Privett and Aaron Privett; son-in-law, Peter D. Ward; brothers-in-law, Marion Bartlett, Theodore Hood, Tab Walden and Leon Laseter; and sisters-in-law, Nettie Privett, Wanda Privett and Avel Privett
