Funeral services for Gertrude Elizabeth Brown, 84, of Cullman will be November 24, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Mt. View Missionary Baptist Church with interment in Bethsadia Cemetery. Revs. Frank Mackenzie and Mark Long officiating. The body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Cullman Funeral Home is in charge if arrangements.
Mrs. Brown passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born November 9, 1928 to Michael and Margaret Cartee Carfield. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Brown; a son, Raymond Brown; sisters, Annie, Josephine and Molly; and a brother, Frances.
She is survived by her sons, Michael (Nekita) Brown, James A. (Carolyn)
Brown, Lee (Connie) Brown and Charlie Brown; daughters, Margaret (Duane)
Boatright, Vicky (Donald) Harbison, Lisa (Kenneth) Anderson and Marie
(Timothy) Peek; sisters, Rita of New York and Theresa of United Kingdom; 15 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-great arandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Givens, Michael Brown, Jr., James Raymond Brown, Todd Anderson, Travis Peek and Mark Brown.
Visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2012 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
