James ‘Louie’ Horton
Funeral services for James “Louie” Horton, 86, of Cleveland will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at the Green’s Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Bros. Ray Latham and Hughlon Murphree officiating, with interment in Green’s Chapel Cemetery.
Blount County Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Horton died Thursday, Aug. 2, his residence. He was born in Blount County. He was a machine operator for Stone Container. He attended Green’s Chapel CP Church and loved fishing, hunting, playing ball, spending time with his grandchildren and was an “all-around good guy.”
He was preceded in death by father, Lon Horton; his mother, Louell Gilliland Tidwell; and two sisters, Alsie Cornelius and Gladys Blackwood.
Survivors include his wife, Ossie Evans Horton; a son, Jeffrey Horton; two daughters, Joyce (Scott) Hodges and Polly (Ken) Roberts; two special daughters, Ava (Charles) McPherson and Nyoka (David) Bryan; a sister, Betty Bullard; three grandchildren, Jarrod and Brody Roberts and Drake Hodges; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Ken Roberts, Jarrod Roberts, Brody Roberts, Drake Hodges, Mac Griffin and Donald Blackwood.
Honorary pallbearer will be Scott Hodges.
