CULLMAN — Marvin Yates

Funeral services for Marvin Yates, 75, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Gary Sartin and Mark Long officiating, with interment in Mt. Grove Baptist Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Yates passed away Monday, July 30, at his residence. He was born Aug. 23, 1936, in Cullman County to Mark and Cordia Leona Pepper Yates.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Annette Yates and Hellon Olene Yates.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hestla Yates of Hanceville; a son, Kevin (Sonya) Yates of Spanish Fort; a daughter, Regina (David) Raney of Huntsville; a grandson, Tyler Yates; three granddaughters, Morgan Yates, Allison Raney and Ashley Raney; a brother, Van Yates of Cullman; five sisters, Alyne Yates Siebenaler of Cullman, Jackie Yates of Chicago, Ill., Jo Yates Nelson and Delora Yates, both of Cullman, and Sharon Yates of Daytona, Fla.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Twilley, Jerry Scott, Ray Cone, Casey Manns, Wayne Widner and Jeff Evans.

Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Young and Bobby Hitt.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
