Earnest Rayford ‘Nick’ Edge
Funeral services for Earnest Rayford “Nick” Edge, 87, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Revs. Jimmy Peyton and Ray Lathem officiating, with burial in Welti Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Edge died Thursday, July 26, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. He was born Sept. 8, 1924, in Villa Rica, Ga., to Allen Oliver and Hattie Lee Payne Edge. He was a foreman with Chicago Bridge and Iron.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Nell Edge; two sons, Roger D. (Jane) Edge and Jim (Jan) Edge; a daughter, Peggy (Jim Smith) Edge; five grandchildren, Lee (Michelle) Holder, Lucretia (Shane) Branham, Brian (Shannon) Edge, Melissa (Jason) Wisniowski and Christy (Roman) Sniecinski; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
