HANCEVILLE — Evon Rowe

Funeral services for Evon Rowe, 80, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne Wisener and Junior Wolfe officiating, with interment with military honors in Hopewell Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Rowe passed away at his home Saturday, June 22. He was born Sept. 1, 1932, in Winston County, to Zella and George Hopkin Rowe. He was stationed in Germany while serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from Cullman Products and spent most of his time doing carpentry, gardening, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was saved in 1962 and was a devout member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, George Benny Rowe and Winnie Lou Atkins.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Estelle Rowe; three children, Carrlon (Wade) Holmes, Randall (Maria) Rowe and Melissa (Steve) Atchley; sister, Sue Reynolds; brother, Jerry (Bobbie) Rowe; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.

    Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
