Funeral services for Milton Estes, 88, of the Brooklyn community will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jerry Hackney officiating, with interment in Brooklyn Cemetery.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Estes died Tuesday, Sept. 24, at his residence. He was born in Cullman County to George V. and Mary Latham Estes. He was a carpenter in the construction business, a former pastor of Oak Level Baptist Church and an assistant pastor of Holly Pond First Baptist Church. He also was a veteran of the U.S. Army. His memberships included Lystra Baptist Church and the Baileyton Masonic Lodge No. 472.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Talmadge, Feltus and Wayne Estes; and a sister, Mozelle Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Carlene Bailey Estes of Holly Pond; sons, Phil (Cissy) Estes of Holly Pond and Gene (Annette) Estes of Franklin, N.C.; daughters, Sandra (Jerry R.) Reynolds of Davenport, Fla., and Pam (Tim) Hackney of Blountsville; a brother, Milford Estes of Holly Pond; a sister, Louise Chestnut of Holly Pond; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gary Mac Estes, Josh Estes, Jerry Reynolds, Jeffrey Reynolds, Jasson Thomas and Kevin Hackney.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
