Sissy went to live in eternity with her heavenly father Monday, June 23, after a valiant fight with cancer at home and at Trinity Hospital in Birmingham, Ala. Sissy was born December 21, 1952, at Carraway Methodist Hospital in Birmingham to L.B. and Ollie Carr Tyler, and lives in Warrior, Ala., with her parents and her sisters, Iceal Tyler Rich and Cheryl Tyler Riddle.
Sissy was a kind, caring and loving person, but always ready with a funny quip. She enjoyed many sports, painting and various creative crafts, and she loved the beach.

They were blessed with two sons and a daughter, two grandsons and two granddaughters: Barton Tyler Dye (Ashley) of Centerhill, Ala.; 1st Class Petty Officer Daniel Martin Dye (Julie, Ronin Fenner Dye and Soren Kyler Dye); and Amy Dye Peterson (Kirk, Katelyn Peterson and Rebecca Peterson).
Sissy and Benny were active boosters in all their children’s sports activities, especially football, basketball and band. Sissy was also a lifelong Auburn fan. As small business owners, she worked with her husband and son for more than twenty years.

“He Only Takes the Best
God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around her and whispered, ‘Come with Me.’
With tear-filled eyes we watched her suffer and fade away.
Although we loved her deeply, we could not make her stay.
A Golden Heart stopped beating, hardworking hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us He Only Takes the Best.”
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to American Cancer Society or Hospice.
We would also like to acknowledge the outstanding care Sissy received at Trinity Hospital in Birmingham, especially the Cardiac ICU. We will never forget Lance, Sherry and Dustin. Thank you all so much for the wonderful care!
