Anthony Paul Nassetta

Anthony P. Nassetta, 92, of Cullman passed away on Friday, July 4, 2014 after a short illness. Services will be held on Monday, July 7, at 10 a.m.

Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Cullman, with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.

Anthony was born May 12, 1922 in the Bronx, New York.  He was the son of Rose and Conrad Nassetta.  

Anthony met Lillian Nurmi while they were employed during the wartime effort by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Hartford, Connecticut.  They were married in April of 1945 in New London, CT, where they lived and raised their family.  They moved to Cullman after retiring from Nassetta Brothers Inc., a family owned architectural woodworking business, where Anthony served as President and General Manager for many years.

Lillian passed away in Cullman in 2010.

Survivors include his daughter Pamela Nassetta Patrick of Dennisport, MA; sons Deacon Peter (Sondra) Nassetta of Cullman, Rick (Debbie) Nassetta of Tustin, CA; a daughter Karen Nassetta (John) Basilica of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers Thomas (Peg) Nassetta of Norwell, MA and Paul (Kay) Nassetta of Arlington, VA; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Anthony's memory to the Sacred Heart Cemetery Fund, c/o Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 205 3rd Avenue SE, Cullman, AL 35055.

Visitation will be from 7:15 to 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, with a rosary at 8 p.m.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.

    Susan Werner died Monday, July 21, 2014, as a result of an apparent fall at her home in Gainesville, Florida. Susan grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and, after graduation from FSU, spent many years in Cullman, where she taught elementary school and received a master’s degree from UAB. While in Cullman, she married Robert Werner and helped run a family retail business.
