Robert spent 22 years in the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam wars. After his retirement, he moved to Good Hope, became a longtime member at Good Hope Baptist Church, ran “Bob’s Store” for 10 years, and he witnessed to many, and never met a stranger. Growing up in Philadelphia, he began a love of baseball; he was one of the “knothole gang” at the old Shibe Park, watching the Philadelphia Athletics. He also enjoyed fishing and tennis, but was passionate about Braves baseball.
