Funeral services for Kenneth Gaddy, 87, of Oneonta will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Lemley Chapel, the Rev. Tony Jones officiating, with interment in Douglas City Cemetery.
Lemley Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Gaddy died Saturday, June 19, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center-Blount. He was born in Cullman County to Charles Marshall and Maudine Edwards Gaddy. He worked for Alabama Power Company for 37 years and a 60-year member of the IBEW. He was a dedicated father and grandfather who enjoyed farming and basket weaving. His military duty included CBI China, Berma India Link (Army Air Corp), World War II. He received the Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and an American Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents; several brothers and sisters; and a great-grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Gregory Gaddy of Oneonta; six children, Lynda (John) Watson of Tallahassee, Fla., Susan (Robert) Lowe of Panama City, Fla., Greg Gaddy, Rebecca (Robert) Glandon Rachel (Keith) Mardis and Ramona (David) Brewer, all of Oneonta; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, cousins, etc.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lowe, Robert Glandon, Keith Mardis, David Brewer, Kyle Watkins, David Gaddy and Marshall Mardis.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
