Funeral services for Ronald Hudson Reid Sr., 71, of Hanceville will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne Wisener officiating with interment in Garden City Cemetery.
Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Reid passed away on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Hanceville Nursing and Rehab.
He was born in Blount County to Cannie Taft Reid and Edith LaVelle Helms Reid. He retired from 3M in Decatur and loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
He is survived by four children, Ronald Hudson Reid Jr., Mark Allan (Sharon) Reid, Victoria Reid (Chad) Perry and Britt Hayden (Kayce) Reid; two brothers, Franklin Taft Reid and Johnny R. (Hilma) Reid; one sister, Virginia Reid (John) Higginbotham; five grandchildren, Victoria Alexandra Reid, Caitlin Olivia Reid, Hayden Elizabeth Reid, Reid Alexander Perry and Harrison Hudson Reid; three nephews; two nieces and many close family friends and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
