Millard Jack ‘Jackie’ ‘Rooster’ Nail Jr.
Funeral services for Millard Jack “Jackie” “Rooster” Nail Jr., 53, of Vinemont will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Moss-Service Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Larry Nail officiating, with interment in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Moss-Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Nail passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, at his residence. He was born April 13, 1958, in Cullman to Millard J. Nail Sr. and Carrie Nell Barron Wisner. He spent 27 years with the Alabama National Guard, with the 167 2D Infantry Division. He was utilized in Operation Nobel Eagle, following 911 in New York, and several hurricanes being deployed to the gulf coast. He also worked for 11 years at Apel Steel as a loader. Rooster never met a stranger, and even helped many over the years. He loved his family, friends and neighbors and especially his grandchildren. In his free time, he loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Charlotte Jones Nail; a daughter, Bridget Leigh (fiancé, Chad Kilpatrick) Brannon; a son, Scott (Tashia) Nail; his mother; three sisters, Carrie Diane Bonner, Kathy Alene Dudley and Nancy Rebecca Kelly; three grandchildren, Lane Brannon, Morgan Nail and Brayden Nail; and his mother-in-law, Iva Lee Jones.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
