Donna Thompson Quattlebaum

CULLMAN — Donna Thompson Quattlebaum, 80, finished her earthly journey and began her eternal walk with her Lord on August 2nd, 2013.

She was born to Donald and Zelda Thompson on October 26th, 1932 in Abilene, Texas. They moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1944 where she graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1949. She went to Auburn University where she met, and married, James Fred Quattlebaum in 1952. She and Fred shared over 60 years of adventures, laughter and love along with their four children and four grandchildren.

She worked alongside her husband in their family business. She was an active volunteer mom, Sunday School teacher and Hospice volunteer. She loved playing golf and spending time with her friends. She was always ready with her witty comments, infectious smile and laughter. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend who is deeply loved. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Fred Quattlebaum, her parents, one brother and two infant sons.

She is survived by three sons; Tim (Shirley) Quattlebaum, Joe (Susan Cornelius) Quattlebaum, Mike (Jeannette) Quattlebaum,. One daughter, Christy Quattlebaum St. John. Four grandchildren; David Quattlebaum, Matthew Quattlebaum, Megan St. John and Alexandria St. John.

Visitation service will be held at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home on Sunday, Augusst 4, 2013 at 2 to 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests donations be made in memory of Donna Quattlebaum to the “Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund”.

    Carlton Eugene Stafford, 82, of Cullman passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1932, James and Mary Katherine Brown Stafford. Mr. Stafford was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was the original owner of Carlton’s restaurant.
