CULLMAN — Frances Graves Puckett

Funeral services for Frances Graves Puckett, 89, of Vinemont will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel, Chad Kennedy officiating, with interment in Providence Cemetery in Cullman.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Puckett died Friday, Aug. 31, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Jefferson County to William Carlos and Annie Lou Ison Graves. She was a school teacher with the Jefferson County Board of Education.

Twice widowed by the age of 36, she raised three small children by herself. She went on to earn a master’s degree in special education. She loved to sing and performed with Sweet Adolines for many years. She loved the Lord and never missed worship.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Maureen and all the girls at Woodland Haus for taking care of Mom.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two husbands, J.D. Stone and Frank Puckett.

Survivors include a daughter, Ila (James) Cadle; two sons, Harvey Frank Puckett and Carlos Franklin (Ann) Stone; two grandchildren, James L. (Shelley) Cadle and Valerie Cadle; and two great-grandchildren, Eli Cadle and Elizabeth Cadle.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
